Health & Safety

Our Priorities

G & S Transport operates within a comprehensive Health, Safety, Environment, Community and Quality (HSECQ) System and has established policies for Drug & Alcohol, Injury Management, Training, Maintenance and Fatigue Risk Management. We are accredited in both the National and Western Australian Heavy Vehicle Accreditation Schemes for Maintenance and Fatigue Management.
G& S Transport has Truck Safe Accreditation and was a finalist for the 2013 National Trucking Association TruckSafe John Kelly Memorial Award.
All our trucks are fitted with Black Box tracking systems to ensure the most efficient service delivery enabling us to know where every truck is at a given time, as well as the hours taken to do specific jobs and ensuring our maintenance and servicing is correctly adhered to.

G & S Transport is committed to providing a healthy and safe workplace for employees, customers and the public.

Our HSECQ management system provides the framework for how this is accomplished and provides detail on:

  • Maintaining a safe workplace through safe practices and procedures at all times.
  • Establishing measurable health and safety objectives and targets aimed at the elimination of work-related injury and illness.
  • Raising awareness of health and safety for all employees and stressing personal accountability.
  • Empowering employees to improve health and safety processes in their areas of responsibility through consultation and immediate action.
  • Complying with or exceeding all relevant occupational health and safety legislation, regulations and Australian Standard requirements.
  • Providing adequate training and resources to enable employees to complete any set task in a safe and efficient manner and ensuring competence in the task.
  • Establishing and maintaining effective consultation and communication mechanisms for hazard identification and incident reporting.
  • Regularly review safety management systems to ensure continual improvement.

All employees and subcontractors are expected to participate actively in, and accept individual responsibility for their health and safety interactions and work in partnership with management to ensure compliance whilst seeking continuous improvement.
